Just hook it up as shown in the included documents. Its ready to go right out of the box. This link has been setup for maximum bandwidth and throughput. The transmit settings are set to maximum power output. With this current setup, this link, raised about 9 feet off the ground, will easily span 1000 feet or possibly much more.
This radio operates on 5gHz so it will NOT travel as well through obstructions like trees or walls. Any obstructions or anything within its Fresnel zone will impact performance and distance capability. After theyre physically installed and facing each other, depending on how clear the line of sight is, and the distance between the two radio units, and how clear the path remains between them (no moving objects interfering in-between), this link should be able to hold all the connectivity and capacity youll need for a long distance, high-performance point to point connection. Note: you may want to adjust the power settings for the best performance. If the two radios are mounted too close together, too good of a connection is a bad thing so youll want to adjust the power output settings.
For example, if they are mounted only 100 feet apart and facing each other along with good clear line of sight, your signal link is likely too strong and will need adjusting for optimum performance. Or, even if the distance is not perfect clear line of sight and still less than about 500 feet, you may want to adjust the power settings for the best performance. All you need to make this work is covered in the attached documents. They say 150Mbps is the wireless data rate. This is true on the WIRELESS side but your ACTUAL max data rates will be about half that. Which means if you are using it for Internet or data transmission, it's still a really good date rate, you just won't see 150Mbps. This information is based on my experience and knowledge of wireless data rates versus total/actual data rates. And I think other experts on this product would concur with me on this.
